Kids' Rooms
These murals (left and below) were inspired by Beatrix Potter's fanciful watercolors that accompany her stories of  Peter Rabbit

Watercolor is a beautifully transparent  medium but does not lend itself to vertical or unprotected surfaces. Therefore, the murals were executed in acrylic paint for durability. This process, however, requires special skill to maintain the essence of the transparent watercolor.
For the handpainted border in this boy's room, the inspiration was a charming rug made by another artist. By incorporating some of the rug's whimsical characters into a colorful border, we were able to create a lively and playful atmosphere.
Fun, fun, fun!
